Default What new battery should I buy?

Hi all,

I have an 2001 S2000 and I'm thinking of getting a new car battery which is a good brand of battery I have a standard one on at the moment I'd just like to see what's out there?

Hello there,

I have an AP1 as well. I currently use a Optima battery. They are expensive but well worth it i think IMO. I've put the top down many times while the car wasn't running and listed to music for long periods without any problems. No flicking of the dash lights or anything. I think its good.Heres a link : http://www.optimabatteries.com/us/en/ . I can't remember which battery it is though .

I hope this helps!

My first Optima Yellowtop lasted 6 mo. My second lasted 1 1/2 years. Now I have an Interstate that is 20 months old. Also use a 1 farad cap for sound system.

Forgot to add that I never listen to music unless the engine is running, though.

Wow! That's strange. I never had a problem with mine :S Hmmm now i'm kind of worried

I don't know if this helps but i only have a stock stereo system minus a different headunit.

My Optima also lasted about 6 months, I'm now using a OEM battery for the last year with no problems.

I'm sure having a stock stereo system will make a difference. Also, here in Florida, each year we have 180 days that it hits ninety degrees and above.

Mmm that makes sense. Damn! Thats hot! I wish it was that warm here for that long! Here in Ontario, Canada we only got like 2 weeks of really hot weather. (+35c/95f) Now its cold imo (20c/68f)
