Here's mine from the install thread https://www.s2ki.com/...st__p__16429072

Though since then I've switched the sub for a Type-R and now have an Alpine PDX-V9 fitted atop the fuel tank.
So the sub was under your amp? If so how did it sound? Do you still have the tools in the car?
No, the amp was on the fuel tank (as shown in the photos), and the sub was in the boot, tucked away at the side, as also shown in my photos.

Given the locations of the kit, of course the tools are still in the car.

The whole thing sounds great, mostly because of the great quality HU, Amp and front speakers, with the Sub filling in underneath, like it's supposed to.

No I didnt build it. Got it from a local member. Wouldnt be hard to build. 10" sub. Since it doesnt utilize the whole space it has a lip around the top to hold it on top of the trunk floor. I'll try to find a picture.

Sorry, think I quoted the wrong person. Your install looks clean. Are your amps where the spare tire usually sits, or is it on the other side?

On top of the fuel tank, as mentioned at least three times now, and also as per my photos. Just the one amp now, of which there isn't a photo

I'm using a JL stealthbox with an RE audio 10 in sub. I have 2 amps where the spare tire is for now. I don't pack much and the S is my DD.

[insert photos here]
Does having the sub upside down like that change the sound much or is it just for looks? I'm a bit of a noob with subwoofers, but I'm looking at my options.

Not sure if you mentioned this but is there any issue with the insulation coming in contact with the amp?

I did some looking and saw what you meant. Is the sound deadening fine with the heat of the amp?

It was fine with the old setup, though we don't get particularly high temps here in the UK (anything over 30C/85F is extreme).

I've since modified the tray to stop it rattling which involved cutting some holes in it and adding sticky dynamat-type sound deadening material to it, so the insulation is a lot thinner.

Plenty of other people have amps mounted there (have a look at the installs thread, or have a search for "amp on gas tank") and I've not heard of any significant problems. A very helpful guy called "Oth" for example: https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/398...stall-location

Obviously don't put an amp that has top mounted fans in there!
