Where is the best place to ground an amp?

Default Where is the best place to ground an amp?

Whats up guys sorry if this has been covered before i tried searching but where do you guys ground you amp in your trunk. I have it grounded by the taillight but my amp keeps going into protection mode so I think its the ground any suggestions?

Try a big ring terminal and one of the bolts for the rear strut tower brace. Make sure to clean off the paint whereever you ground so you get a better connection.

I have my amp grounded to a factory ground point on the rear wall of the trunk. There are a bunch of ground wires going to that point so I thought it would be a good ground.
I have been noticing a lot of engine whine lately and am trying to eliminate it.
Could sharing this ground with other components cause the noise?

Use one of the rear strut tower bolts as mentioned.

Black: yes, sounds like a ground loop. Move your ground.
