Thats cool. Do you have any pics of that? I just had an idea for how to do it in the spare tire area. There should be enough room but i'll have to wait to get my equipement to see if it all fits. We'll see.

I'm really not good with the computer, but in the spare tire area I have most of the wires. I found that you have to get really creative with the s2k. we even went as far as putting 2 5" dvd screens in the visors and making a really cool piece that fits in the trunk lid that has a 7" dvd screen in it. In the hole in the floor of the trunk, we molded a fiberglass box with a 12" JL W6 and we also molded custom fiberglass kick panels in the cab area with 6" Boston components and replaced the factory speakers with JL components. I wish I could show you some pics, but im not that good yet. It's amazing what a little fiberglass and creative thoughts will do to you're car.

Yeah I was going to put two amps in the back and a CD changer. The way I was going to reduce heat was by removing the spare tire leaving the panel removed. Re-carpet that hole where the tire used to be with carpetting similar to the S2K factory carpet and then build a rack to go in there. That would:

1) Keep the air cicrculating as there will be no panel and open to the rest of the trunk.
2) Make a nice little neat system rack
3) Require no drilling into the car as the rack will be held in place by the spare tire bolt to keep it in one place.
4) Completely carpeted to match the rest of the trunk.
5) Easily removable as you will only have to take out one bolt.

Any comments? Maybe this is a bad idea, I just came up with it, and it should be possible. Thanks!

thats what i did back there, i put a peice of carpeted wood and drilled a hole for the mount of the spare tire. good thinking, but i also removed the back dash, because it rattled real bad, and it also let more air in to keep it cool. i also have some fans back there to keep it cool. removing the back dash is really eaisy and lets the base go to the cab a hell of alot better.

The back dash? Is that just the trunk lining? Or what is that? Excuse my ignorance.

I was wondering if anyone could help in telling me which color carpet matches the back of the trunk the best. I'm ordering from Crutchfield and I can't tell as they have three different types. Please help!

The back dash is the thing that the top sets down on to when you put it down, it doesnt hurt anything to take it out. Don't spend the money at crutchfeild, just go to the hardware stor, and they should have the color a lot cheaper.
