WHO has replaced door speakers and added an amp????
I kept the stock dash unit and added an amp. I bought a converter that takes speaker level output and drops it down to RCA levels for the amp. The device was like $20 or so and its adjustable per channel. Its basically two inductors and two pots. Anyway its simple to install. I put it under the stock dash unit in the back. It does take a little tweaking but its pretty easy. It comes with instructions on how to set the appropriate levels. To make the install clean, I put plugs on all the speaker level signals so that the stock configuration can be restored in minutes.
I put Soundstream components in the door and tweeters in the A pillar and it sounded great.
I put and amp in and it sounded even better. You can't go wrong. Just get rid of those stock speakers!!!!

Hanzie what ever you do don't go back to that shop thay are obviously trying to rip you off. I have spoken to several shops and they have told me that replacing the speaker alon will help quite a bit then if I do the Amp it would givem me more power and cleaner sound at the high end of the volume. Put in a Cd changer and it would give even better sound, cause it CD and not Radio. Replacing the Head unit is cool and looks high tech and give some additional functionality and better sound, but the speaker and AMp is the most improvements you can make. Also, on the AMP get a Amp with RCA input and you don't have to worry about speaker level output. Goto www.sounddomain.com and check out their stuff, good price and good tools for recommanding components.
