Default widget removal?

since I got my '06 4 years ago there has been this little button/flashing light in the dash right under the cruise control button.

since I can't figure out how to insert pix, I'll describe as a constantly flashing blue light with a phone icon to one side and a crosshatch symbol on the other.

This has not been a problem, but now that my battery is 4 yrs old and is cranking a little slower after the car sits I'd like to eliminate the battery drain if possible.

Before I go mucking around under the dash, I'm looking for inputs/insights/experience here.

Thanks in advance.
