Looking at getting the Pioneer TS-A Series 6.5" component speakers for my s2k, will they fit? And what else will I need to get them to work?

 

Or can someone recommend a good set of speakers that will fit that sound good, thanks!

 

I replace OEM with Alpine SPR-60C. Fit fine. Cleaner sound, compared to OEM.

 

Very few speakers are true "drop in" as the removable plastic speaker basket can't accomodate the larger magnet of
most aftermarket speakers. However, a vast majority of 6.5" speakers will fit if you substitute an adapter ring
which you can make yourself or purchase, such as these from Modifry.

Use a so you don't need to cut any OEM wiring, and consider using
speaker baffles for weather protection.

 

I DIY'ed mounting rings, out of wood. Pretty easy with jigsaw & plywood.

 

You will also need to mount the tweeters in the doors. Those Pioneers are decent speakers, they sound great with or without an amp.

 

I am running Alpine Type R 6.5 speakers.
