Default Window Antennas?

Hey guys---

All these new cars (hondas/Acuras, everything really) Has antennas embedded into the rear windshields etc----

Is there anything available on the after market that will do the same thing but allow you to just like stick it on to the interior side of the rear glass?

I haven't been able to find anything like that. I want to shave the antenna off of my Prelude when I get it repainted, but I listen to the radio (AM and FM) quite often and I dont want to lose reception....

Any ideas?

I've seen things that you can hang from the back window but they are big and doofy looking... I want something that you dont even realize is there.

Thanks for the tips guys---

My boss (from the early '70's) used an antenna embedded in a piece of (what looked like) scotch tape and stuck it around the inside parameter of the front windshield ...... Not sure where he got it then .. but J C Whitney (www.jcwhitney.com) often has stuff like this ..... even fuzzy dices if that's what you are looking for.....

what do you guys think of this?

any of you know how to read the specs to know how it would compare to the stock antenna?

Good find! I'd be interested to get someone's feedback on that too!

There's room for this under the dash above the radio. I have my dash cut for an LCD, so it's quite easy access and there isn't much metal in there.

I can't tell you where to find it, but i know for certain there's more than one interior window-based am/fm aerial solution for cars.

A friend of mine, the owner of one of the best modified car shops in the UK www.xquisiteautomotive.co.uk had an interior aerial fitted to his e46 m3 and it never missed a beat, reception was better than stock too.

Worth having a look around.

Sorry for bumping an old thread ... but, I'm curious if anyone has found/tried a windshield-tape style FM antenna yet. I'm really considering one if it is even a slight improvement over the stock one.

Thanks
