Default Wire harness under driver's seat. What is it for?

Just replaced my head unit, speakers, and added an amplifer last week. I forgot to re-connect the wire harness under the driver's seat. I'll re-connect it sometime this week. Just curious what it's for. Anyone now? Seems to remove the beeping sound when the key is in the ignition.

My guess would be the sensor to detect if the driver's seatbelt is fastened.

On the MY04's it is a connection for the factory alarm system. I'm not sure about the older models...
