Yes, you need the remote wire hooked up at both ends.

Ok guys...i hooked up the remote wire....but still no sound from the sub...do i need to wire the amp by wiring speaker of the rear speaker wire on the head unit to the amp....so i can listen to the sub....please any can help me would be great....

Does the amp have a light that comes on when it turns on? And is it turning on?

yes it does have a light but it is not turning on...!!

All you need to worry about right now is the +, -, and remote wires. One of them is not hooked up right(assuming your amp works).

This may be stupid but did you put the fuse in your fuse block by the battery?

i do have the fuse in the fuse block...and i do have the ground hooked up in the location that darknight said in his posts...and i have the power wired all the way...

well here is a question ...i purchased the amp kit from rockford fosgate and they have a black and white rcas...and i hoooked up the black wire to the red plug in on the amp and the white wire to white plug on the amp..
