Wiring New Audio System

I think any extra noise added to the speakers due to the impedance mismatch will be so little, if even perceptable, that given the rest of the noise floor (including the road noise, wind noise, etc.), you will never notice it.
If I were in your position, and the deed was already done, I would just live with it, and smile.

BTW, just finished pre-wiring the car for this weekend, when the installer puts the amp and speakers in. WHAT A PITA!!! Next time I decide to prewire a car, someone stop me before I do it!!!
Funny thing.... I did it without pulling either of the seats out.
(That may have been why it was so hard...

The vacuuming of the mats is slated for tomorrow.
I've got so much cleaning to do. Thank goodness it is a small car. I've get zip-tie bits all over the place, not to mention insulation from wires also scattered around. I was just too tired tonight to do it.
AND THE SEATS WILL REMAIN IN THE CAR DURING THE PROCESS.

Update to saga:
I got home late Friday night, to find a message on my answering machine. The manager of the store I had bought most of my equipment from, was now telling me that the installer, who was going to install my amp and speakers, had to go out of town for a family emergency; my Saturday morning appointment was therefore needing to be cancelled!
After all the work I had been putting in over the past week to ensure that my stuff was done by Saturday, I now was finding was for naught!!!!
Anyway, I called the manager back on Saturday morning. He then told me I had a couple of options. The first, which I really didn't like, was to wait until this installer came back; unfortunately, the manager had no idea when that would be. Another option was for him to schedule an appointment with one of the other installers at another store to see if they could do the work. In either case, he assured me that I would only have to pay half of the installation cost due to the inconvenience.
I opted for the second option, and the "new" installer told me that he would have no problem doing what I wanted. I now have my car scheduled for this coming Friday for the work.
