Default Would the proximity sensor from a Viper alarm work on a Compustar system?

I currently have an older model Viper alarm on my S, but would love to upgrade to a pager system to alert me if anything is happening with my car. I recently had a hit and run in my apartment parking lot and would like to actually catch the person if it happens again.. *crossing fingers*

My Viper alarm has a proximity sensor that detects movement on the inside of the car. And if would run my hand on the soft top it would go off..

But as my subject asks, would this work with the Compustar system?

How much extra would the proximity sensor be for the Compustar system?

Just weighing out my choices...

Thanks for any help!

Pete (ruexp67) talks about his alarm in this thread where he mentions he has a compustar alarm and a DEI (viper) prox detector...

Phil, the Compustar alarm is made by (oddly enouigh) compustar, but I have a DEI prox.

It was going nuts after I relocated my prox to the armrest. Unplugging the prox made it stop immediatly.

I am going to be doing the relay thing one of these day (I have a few months of storage to go so I am in no rush.)
so clearly, this can be done... i'm also running a DEI prox in my vehicle as well...

no problem Justin...

once again -- as things slow down, i'd be willing to help you do an upgrade like this...

most of the tie-ins should be the same and it shouldn't be too tough... *duh duh dah!* (scarey music for fatal last words... )

i'm thinking things should be much more stable in a couple weeks. not to mention -- don't we have some clears to do?
