WOW! Finally fixed the rattling...
After two weeks of having my system in, the rattling was driving me crazy. Yesterday I ripped both doors apart and started working on it.
First, I moved the crossovers from inside the doors to under the dash. That helped some. Next, I used Dynamat speaker kits for both doors, using the leftover pieces inside the door itself. After doing this, I discovered the real source of most the noise... the stupid plastic sheathing! The woofer was displacing air, which was then being forced out of the vent holes in the door- making the plastic flap like crazy. I located the two holes in the metal nearest the woofer. I cut the sheathing around these holes, securing it to the edge of the holes with electrical tape. Bingo! No more rattling!
The difference is really night and day. Before, I actually was longing for my stock system back... now I can run my components at full-range and have NO rattling.

yeah....a good system really points out flaws that you would have otherwise never seen. Kinda like a disease....once you fix something, something smaller just pops up and you HAVE to get it PERFECT!
