Default xfm radio 05 s2k

Hello All,

I have ordered a new s2k (silverstone) it should arrive soon

Does anyone here have experience with the xfm that you can get as an accessory from the dealer? They are offering it up including installation for $600.

Any thoughts on the special xfm antenna that they install on the trunk.? It doesn't look to good. I am curious if anyone has that and how they feel about it now that they have had it for a while.

Any thoughts on the head rest speakers they also have?

Thanks in advance.
John

No experience with the OEM XM option, but you can do much better than than for a lot less than $600.

If I were you I would (and did) buy an aftermarket head unit, XM tuner and smaller antenna($50) and interface ($50) . You can get modifry's DCI to maintain (and improve) the dash controls ($100). You can easily get all this for much less than $600, and you'll have much better quality sound and a better base if you want to upgrade the rest of the system later.

Likewise with the OEM headrest speakers...you can do much better for the money by going aftermarket.

Thanks for the info. Couple questions.

On the install -- did you do that yourself? Any info on that? How does the installation look?

Where did you put the antenna?

Thanks in advance for your help.
