Terk has XM Commander which is a control box and a separate display to control XM through either a line-out or FM modulator in your car.

In a couple of months Terk is going to release XM Direct, with specialized adapters for each aftermarket HU brand so you can use your HU to directly control XM.

My question is they both look the same, other than the Commander comes with the separate display and control unit.

I was wondering if I bought the Commander for now, and then would I be able to just buy the correct adapter and then dump the Commander display and use my HU? Are the actually "brain" boxes the same?
