XM Install Help!
Well...I installed the Alpine TUA-T020XM unit w/ Terk antenna that I bought off another member today, but it doesn't seem to work -- there is no sound on the XM Preview channel (ch 1) Hopefully someone here can help me!
Current set-up
alpine 9831 wired through Lucid harness and DCI. Everything works fine on this: Tuner, CD, MP3, etc.
AI-NET cable runs out the back of that into the XM tuner unit. Tuner unit is powered and then I used the antenna (2 plug design) and mounted it on the underside of the trunk lid. it is not the magentic kind, but rather adhesive. (I have the newer xMicro antenna but am waiting on the 1plug to 2plug adapter to use it).
When I turn on the head unit, I hit SOURCE to change. It recognizes that I have XM. I can change to channel 0 and get my radio ID. Then I go to channel 1 and it flashes "loading" and then the first time it came up as "NO SIGNAL"
. I then took the antenna out of the trunk and put it on top of the center console (still hooked up). But either way, the head unit starts scrolling "XM Preview" but there is no sound at all. I can turn it up to 30 on the volume and get nothing.
Any ideas? I called XM and they just gave me the Alpine 800#, which of course, it closed.
Thanks!

Ok so I know this is an old post, but it pertains to my topic - my terik XM unit does not seem to be getting power - my HU and DCI are working fine, my main question is; where did you guys hook up the constand 12v on the xm receiver? I just spliced it into the 12v on the HU harness - does this noit work? If not, where else can I get a 12v to use?

i would think it would work BUT you might lose your xm memory & any updates
i just installed mine (again) last week and i beleive the unit calls for a constant feed - just try the yellow wire
