I am planning to install everything myself. And now the questions:
1)Will be everything plug and play or do i have to do any other connections?
2)I read in some threads i have to remove the centre console and the radio console to install the new unit. As i am a bit scared to do that could you please advise me for the proccess to remove the centre console? Is it just pull it upwards from each side starting from the back to unclip it?And for the radio console is it just pull it from the lid cover?
I am a bit scared i will brake the clips
I still have one to install my self.
For an 04' I dont think removing the console is necessary although I could be wrong.
I'd try removing the stock unit first without removing panels on the center console. Just go slow and if you run into problems with the console then you can remove it.
I have an '06 and also the service manual. The SM doesn't say anything at all about the center console so I will initially try to remove the radio without.
Spend 15 bucks or euros and get a radio removal kit from your local auto-parts store. Good luck
The only part of the center console that needs to come out is the black piece. Not the leather. Remove the shift knob and then pull up on the big plastic piece slowly so that you don't break any clips.
The result should look like this:
You also need to remove the entire trim around the radio to get to the screws holding the radio in place. I did not remove the radio lid separate. This all came out as one piece since I found that to be easier.
Assuming you have all the right harnesses (modifry adaptor to retain the side controls) everything should plug and play.
I hope is going to be easy instalation. I do not have the modifry adaptor but i have the alpine dash control adaptor (KCE 865B) and the interface honda to alpine. Do you think is going to be just plug and play?
