Default Yet another Modifry question

Hey Bob I wanted to say thanks for the help and the quick ship on the harness. I also have a couple quick questions....

1. There are 2 black and 2 red wires on your harness, I know the thick black one is the ground (cause it's labeled). And the thick red is the accessory 12v ground. Is the thinner one an extra ground I need to use on the body? I am using the radio shack terminal strip you suggested on your site as I don't have a soldering gun available.

2. The alpine harness only has one Orange illumination wire no wire for the dimmer(orange/white stripe). So now I'm really confused as to how this dimmer problem exists...

All help is much appreciated..

-Chris

All right after wiring it with the terminal strip I noticed the 2 extra wires come from the same place. I can only assume they were meant to be used with the DCI and if I already spliced them together than I don't need them...?

Should I tape it off of stick it in the strip with the other wires?

don't know what they're for, though you are probably right that they
are extra wires to power the DCI, and if you've already spliced those
to the main red & black wires, you don't need them, in which case you
should definitely tape them off. You should pretty much always tape off
any extra wires so they don't short out anything, even if they later turn out
to be necessary for something. You're unlikely to hurt anything by not
connecting a wire, but you can definitely do damage by connecting a wire
where it shouldn't be.

There are 4 wires for the DCI IIRC, but maybe that's including the mute, well anyways you need all if you want audio interrupt, otherwise all but one.
