Default 06+ with Flashpro p2101 when hitting 8800rpm

I have an interesting setup. 2.0 shortblock with AP2 06 head and AP2 cams. With redline set @ 9200.

If I rev past 8800 I will get CEL P2101 and the throttle body will be shut down. Any ideas what could cause this? What can I look at in FlashPro or any settings which could cause something like this.

What do you guys need from me so I can get this issue tracked down.

I have been working w/this car as well..

there is nothing of note in the data logs. Pedal position still sits at wot, but it kills the throttle. All other sensor readings are normal. If you turn the key off and back on, it works fine again. It is very intermittent.

I called hondata and they were um.. far less than helpful, there are posts on their forums with the same issue, but no one seems to care.

I bet this would fix the problem.. haha

I would bet there is a bug in the target throttle map code. I would try altering the throttle map to see how it changes the behavior. For example, try limiting max throttle to 40% flat across the whole range. After that, try a sloping throttle map that ramps up to a peak at 9k. Just remember that 66% is equal to 100%.

I hadn't messed w the throttle map. It only happens above the stock rev limit. And it doesn't do it every time. Most of the time it works fine

I don't think it's a problem with the map. I think it might be a problem in the software related to the map. As a software developer myself, I'm just suggesting how I would try to identify the root cause.

Btw, does it happen more often in lower gears? Does it do it even when you haven't gotten close to 9k? The ECU really doesn't calculate rpm all that accurately at high RPMs, especially while accelerating very quickly. The ECU might not interpolate above 9k either, so it may "flip out" whenever the calculated rpm is above 9k.

Doesn't seem to matter what gear... or what specific Rev limit. Just anything above stock

Its only an issue when under load WOT 2nd gear or higher. I can free rev to 9k in neutral all I want, not that I need to obviously.

Wow, so it does it even with the rev limit set to 8500?!? What is the recover rpm set to? Have you set it below the rev limit?
