I've received 2 emails about this issue today! The throttle plate sticks at 9%, and the engine dies. I’m guessing both were due to a glitch in a beta version of FlashPro Manager.
Any resolution on this issue? I just received my Hondata Flashpro and installed the software in anticipation of performing the "stock Hondata reflash" later this evening or later this week. The software prompted me to download beta version 1.6.1.0, but I stuck with the current 1.5.6.0 version for now in light of these posts. Please advise which version I should proceed with. Thanks.
I one of the guys that dealt with this most the year (Robert the other). Robert got his to work a few weeks back and I gave up but found some issues after starting the conversion over to drive by cable (to eliminate these Drive By Wire Issues). The primary problem was the alternator ... at higher RPMs, both our alternators were not providing enough for the electronic throttle. We followed the electrical points and traced the problem back to the alternator. Not sure why as many other components worked fine, but a new one changed the readings back to normal for both of us. Another issue was one that I had. Did you take off any of the intake manifold supports? I did due to a custom IM and as a result was shaking at high rpm. It even worked the lower IM nuts loose and freaking out the TB sensors past 7k rpm. I couldn't find this during the TB learning procedure and factory recommended diagnosis (3k rpm), but after re-installing the braces (had to modify mine as I was running a custom IM) the shaking went away and sensors operated properly. Also, I highly recommend making the contact points on the grounds better. The factory locations rely on the bolt for the ground and some of mine were showing signs of corrosion. Hopefully these tips help, they worked for Robert and I but I gave up a bit too soon and switched to the older and simpler cable throttle. Now Im running a Haltech.

Interesting, and good to hear that the FlashPro wasn't the source of the problem.

In order to avoid future headaches, I suppose replacing the alternator as preventative maintenance isn't entirely ridiculous considering my car is now over 90,000 miles ... which begs the question. Any recommendation on replacement alternators? I'm the kind of guy that typically buys OEM replacements for peace of mind unless convinced otherwise. I'll search the forum to see if others have chimed in on the subject. Thanks!
