Default AEM EMS: Revs dont drop fast enough

I just got my EMS v2 tuned and I am having 2 problems:
1) The revs dont drop fast enough when I let go off the throttle. Lets say Im in neutral and just rev the car and let go, it will stay at peak revs for half to 1 second before it starts going down. as a result i have to shift gears like my grandma.

2) car takes a couple of cranks to start when warm, apparently that is normal, but when its cold it takes a good 2-3 mins of cranking

That does help for my 2nd issue. i guess i have to play with it to get it started. Any ideas on the slow rev drop? is there sort of like a dashpot function for that?

Check your the logs if when you release the gas the engine load value is smaller than "Fuel Off Below Load". If that is the case, try to increase it. Base map is -11.4 PSIg I had to increase it to -9.6.

Here are my current settings:

Fuel Off Above RPM: 1700
Fuel Off Below Load: -9.6
Fuel Off Below TPS: 1.2%

sounds like i need to buy a laptop and play with it myself. my tuner said that he could fix it but my idle will get rougher.

I think you should find a new tuner.

I had the same issues when I started using EMS v2 and have both resolved. The "Fuel Off Bellow Load" setting fixed the deceleration issue (hanging rpms) and for the cold starts tweaking the tables in the start tab helped. My car starts pretty much like stock now.

2 things, just my opinion...

Your profile lists a 2003 so a non drive by wire. If your throttle cable is too tight it could cause this problem.

Also, a stock flywheel is slower to reduce RPMs than a lighter flywheel. An AP1 flywheel is much lighter than an AP2 but it can still be made lighter.

Hope something helps.
