Default AEM EMS V2 - Shop Install $

Havent looked into the actual installation directions but just picked up a ap1 and am going with AEM EMS v2 fuel management....

Local shop wants $199 for installation... Sound fair or is it plug and play and something most people can do on there own?

Installation is extremely easy... If you can't do this yourself, you're better off leaving the car completely stock.

After the installation, requires a competent tuner as the base map will 100% make your car slower.

Thanks SHO --- So there's no splicing wires or anything like that with the ECU?

I'd rather save the $200 of i can --- any DIY threads? I can't seem to find any upon searching.

And I can't imagine base map is any slower than stock ECU right?!?

Thanks!

00-05 is 100% remove and replace in a PnP application. The later years use a jumper harness in conjunction with the stock ECU, or something like that.

$199 is a rip off. The AP1 kit is plug and play. Honestly, just do it yourself. You can find the installation instructions on the aem site.

ahh thanks guys, this is why I love this forum... saved me another $200...

now if I could only find out how to sell my ap1 wheels and tires !!!

as far of base map goes for bone stock set up, is there a more aggressive map out there? Or should I just wait for etune or dyno ?

plan when you want your car tuned, install pcm just before you go get a tune.

I guess easier said than done EliteTuning has done all my cars in the past so it's not like i'll be taking it to a shop... + once the damn things comes in the mail, there's no way i'll be able to sit on it that long before I install it.
