Default AEM infinity 506 multimap tuning help

AEM forums got killed and google isn't helping. Can't seem to find what I'm looking for in the manual either. I figured out how to switch VE tables based on VTEC engagement, and that works fine. Is there a way to make lambda and ignition tables change dependent on VTEC engagement as well? All I see is cam timing or mode switch. If I could work around it and make VTEC somehow act as a mode switch, I would do it, but I'm fairly new to infinity and EMS tuning in general. I've picked up a LOT in the last month, but this has become a brick wall for me. AP1 is the car in question.

I'm sure I could just use a single map for low cam and high cam, but having the separate VE tables is nice for if I want to move VTEC engagement around and not have to mess with everything else.

Also, one other big thing I can't seem to get an answer on. I have ITB's. My tuner has been teaching me here and there about general tuning principals. With megasquirt in particular there is a setting for hybrid speed density/alpha-n tuning which would be helpful with getting the ITB's running as close to stock as possible. I feel like it's in there, but I don't know how to set up the trim tables all that well yet. Any advice on that one too? I'm trying to get my car as dialed in as possible and get all the basics set up to save time, and money when the dyno day comes. I've got the VE tables DAMN close, and ignition table is safe and decent, just want to see if I can get some of the more advanced blending features set up. My hope is that come dyno time, all he needs to do is mess with fuel and ignition timing and maybe some fine tuning here and there. Thanks for the help.

You can use the additional fuel and ignition maps to do what you're looking for. I don't suspect you'll gain much of anything from another target map, but you may be able to see benefits with ignition timing... With enough time on the dyno. The v2 was easier in the ignition department as you could just do a VTEC timing adder.

Page 247 on the manual should get you started: https://www.aemelectronics.com/files...Manual.pdf.pdf

OK, I see what you're talking about. I was messing with the blend tables. It would be great to be able to switch modes without having an actual switch on the dash or wherever. The blend table on the infinity apparently only supports VTEC as an axis for the VE table. Not for lambda or ignition. I'm beginning to see the value in MoTec and Megasquirt now. Infinity is great, but still has some weaknesses.

I've had many gripes with the AEM Infinity... I'm a tuner and I never "upgraded" from the v2 to the Infinity and there is a reason why. I've done a fair amount of work on the Infinity on our drag car and I've had plenty of words with AEM over the issues we've had.

(I tried to just link this to some text, but this forum is broken. It works when you "preview", but not once you submit.

That said, for what you're trying to accomplish, I'm not sure there is any real gain in it.

Please don't lump MegaSquirt in with MoTec.
