Thumbs down AEM Infinity temp gauge drop

So I saw someone else somewhere on this forum is experiencing the same issue on their AP1 also, so hoping someone may have some insight.

Basically, I have an aftermarket Flex-a-Lite fan mounted on a 60mm core twin pass custom radiator. When the car gets up to temp the cluster shows 3 Bars on the temp gauge, which is perfect. Once the temp rises and the fan kicks in (set to come on 92 degC) the temp gauge drops to 1 bar on the cluster. Once the fan stops (86 degC), the gauge goes back to 3 Bars. I cannot find the issue. Its a good visual indicator to show the fan has come on but its quite annoying when sitting in traffic and the v2 ecu I had never did this.

The car has been bled properly, all levels are good.

Anyone have any ideas?

the infinity drives the coolant gauge, the scale is way different than oem, but I never got any reply when I asked AEM for more information on how it works (and how you would modify it)

Yeah, after speaking to AEM they say as long as the LS6 output table and frequency tables are correct then it should work. Seems it doesn't. Noone seems to have an idea as to why its doing it :/

Very strange.

Hopefully we can get to the bottom of it!

This may sound silly, but do you have S2000 coolant temp sensor selected? Also, is your temp sensor OEM Honda? or Generic from say a parts store?

Do a PC log while it does this behavior and see what cells are highlighted on the LS6 output. If the output is changing drastically, you can see that's the issue and I'd look into your cal file. If the output is staying steady but the temp gauge is reading differently, I'd look into ground loops and stuff like that potentially interfering.

Yes, OEM temp sensor, s2000 temp sensor selected in the setup wizard.

I did a log to determine if the coolant temp dropped dramatically (92 >10 etc) when the fan kicked in. The temp stayed at 92 and dropped steadily when the fan came on which ruled that out.

I will see if I have the log and double check the LS6 tables. If not then thats a very good idea Def.

I'll give it a go and report back on my findings!
