AP2 won't start, need help with immobilizer bypass please

It takes a looooooog 2 minutes to re-calibrate the ECU. Dash panel will flash various items and at the very end the panel display returns to normal and you'll hear the fuel pump start. If you got impatient and thought it wasn't working and abort the process early the car won't start. I had this happen to me and nearly paniced. 
Did the flash complete? Did you hear the fuel pump?
Why is the cover off the ECU?
