Default APP sensor replace or Flashpro to cure hesitation?

My '06 DBW AP2 has always had the low rpm hesitation when accelerating from a stop (not reving and dumping the clutch). Been reading about people solving the problem by changing the APP sensor and resetting the ecu while others claim a flashpro tune is the cure. Has the sensor change to a new OEM unit been vetted as the fix? Will a flashpro tune of the throttle plate map provide a guaranteed fix? If I just want to improve throttle response and eliminate the hesitation, will a new sensor be enough? If I choose to go with a flashpro, is there any advantage to also replacing the sensor?
TIA

I believe Gernby did a thread on this a few years ago but I was able to tune it out using Flashpro. As memory serves, there is a timing dip at high load and low rpm in the ignition maps.
