Do you really want to just know what is best? Maybe you want to tell people your budget.

Any standalone will work fine. You should be more concerned with which platform your tuner is most comfortable using

What mods do you have/plan on having, and whats your budget? I've used Hondata and aem ems. Hondata is cheaper and much more user friendly. Aem ems v1=crap do not bother, no matter what kind of great deal you get. The v2 is 10x better. The aem is more expensive, but you can tune every aspect of it. If you have a lot of mods and plan on getting more, go with the aem. The Hondata will do almost everything the aem will, the aem just offers a little more.

He has a 2004; the AEM v2 would be cheaper than Hondata.
