From boost to na.
Hey guys I'm pretty new to the forums but I have a couple questions and I need suggestions what to do with my s2000. Ok so I bought a 2001 white s2000, previous owner took off the supercharger x( and left me to deal with either getting a supercharger or changing it back to NA. Iv decided to go back to NA since money is pretty tight right now. Anyways the car has a Aem ems, aftermarket injectors, supercharger crankshaft pully ( I think that's what you call it) Aem fuel pressure regulator and oil return line, some other stuff I think I'm missing. Anyway I was wondering how hard is it going to be to get I back to running NA. Do I have to get the S dyno'd to retune it? Can I keep the Aem aftermarket ems and injectors? Any suggestions will be appreciate
You forgot about addressing the oil feed that is actively allowing oil to drain out the engine in the first pic of the second post. First thing, remove the oil feed block for the SC you don't have, if not you will lose oil and blow the motor(if it isn't already). Second, you have options, #1 leave AEM and injectors in place running the basemap then get tuned #2 find OEM replacements for the ECU and injectors. I would opt for #1 as everything is already in place

OEM ECU first with OEM injectors and get it running would be my plan.
first would drop the oil & filter and inspect it for metal contamination ect

I took out the oil return and put in a regular bolt and took out the bracket putting the vtec solenoid back to factory. So now the oil won't drain out. Now I can start it after I put new oil in? Not run it just start it. Also how would I get it tuned? Dyno'd or just remapping the ecu?

Knowing the car's history would be a huge help. Do you have wideband monitoring capabilities? Was it a base kit supercharger? What pulley did it run? What injectors do you have? You could start it, however, I would recommend uploading the basemap first. Then follow this https://www.s2ki.com/s2000/topic/980...se-map-anyone/

Why in the hell would someone remove only part of the supercharger, its virtually worthless without all the pieces to make it work. Try and find that sandwich adapter if you need it
Be on the lookout for a partial used SC in our forum or CL, Ebay etc. You know where to find the rest of it lol
As far as the current state of the car with what you have shown/listed. Everything you have can be left in place to make it run NA assuming you have or get tuned. But many of those parts can be replaced with OEM at a fraction of the cost used and can sell off everything else for a nice chunk of change.
OEM injectors - $100 Sell current - $200-$400 depending on what they are
OEM ECU - $100-$200 Sell the current EMS $700-900 depending on version
OEM FPR - $25 sell current $75ish
BOV - $75-125 depending on what type
Holding the SC bracket hostage to the lucky sucker that bought the kit without it - Priceless lol.
You have well over a grand in upgraded parts which you can sell after. However the EMS is nice to have for running a lowered vtec for more mid range power. However if you dont care much, want the money and or like the vtec kick at 6k, then sell it and just run stock ecu.

Not sure if this is helpful, some really good advice already here.
I bought an '07 with a spectacular Full Race Stage 3 Garrett BB turbo system and through a terrible series of domino effects, blew the turbo and overheated everything.
I decided, instead of tearing down the existing low miles engine and getting it all tested and then rebuilding if all was OK, to buy an equally low miles OEM engine, drivetrain, airbox, exhaust which I found and have it all installed by a really good high quality shop.
In hindsight, it actually would have been a lot easier and cheaper to just do the engine transplant, turbo rebuild and put everything back as it was correcting what went wrong (a water line broke when an engine mount broke). There were a whole series of unforeseen costs including re-installing the removed crash bars ( removed for the intercooler), replacing a lot of sensors all over the place, head, O2 and more even though we thought all of mine were fine, and then a lot of welding, re-fabrication and a massive amount of effort putting the battery back, the AC lines back and more and more and more.
So, to go back to OEM, literally stock driveline with "new" 52K engine, trans, exhaust, airbox, etc. cost me about ten grand and only a third of that was the cost of the initial "core" parts. The car is now wonderful and great but I'm sure my shop didn't even charge me what they probably should have for all the hours invested in the 2-1/2 months it took.
I'm now driving a fantastic car. Going from the final pro tune @ 430hp back to OEM at about 200 is really tough. The overwhelming pain has somewhat passed now and I'm seriously considering rebuilding my super low-miles (10K) shortblock with 42K head, doing the Garrett turbo CHRA rebuild and putting it all back together really properly this time. Of course, I might just sell someone the entire kit-and-caboodle as a ready to rebuild kit and stick with my tremendously fun nearly new S2K, who knows. I sure do miss that wicked kick from 50-70 to 130+ when I could just crush ALL comers, sure was fun.
