Default Depin - Hondata harness

What's the secret????

I have been trying for a while now with no success. I see there is a white part in the main harness that can pop down slightly but that didn't help matters.

Pleas help!

Easier to get through the firewall and want to run shrink tubing on it so it looks nice nice.

Worst case I will just cut/solder but would rather de-pin it.

It goes through the engine harness hole just fine assembled. Sounds like you are asking for trouble.

But then I can't shrink wrap the wires.

Always looking for trouble!

The wires are coated with a substance that resists electricity and also protects the wire. Do yourself a favor and simply loom the harness instead of shrink wrap it.

I depinned my harness when I installed my K-Pro years ago...I actually snuck mine through the inside of the rubber boot with the factory wiring.

To remove the the pins first pry the lock (little white tabs) up...the only move slightly...maybe 1/16 of an inch...do not try to remove them.

Now for the fun part...find a suitable tool (paper clip or dental pick) and gently lift the tiny gray lock inside the cavity of the connector from the non wire side while gently pulling the wire. It should take almost no force to remove the wire.

Perfect!!!

I was doing it right or so I thought. Just needed to keep prying up and used a thumb tack of all things. Dental tool would be probably spot on.

Also put a paperclip in the white part you pull down so it didn't slide back up.

What a pita but totally worth it!

THANKS!
