Default E-manage ULT or VAFC

Im torn between getting an Emanage Ultimate and the cheaper VAFC. The price difference isnt that much if i get a used emanage. Which is easier to get a descent part throttle tune out of, and is this a EMU that most have problems with.

Car is a ap1, comptech non A/C stock 6# for know, but will be stepping up to the 10 # and aftercooler setup, (with larger injectors if i choose the emanage) or just the RRFPR and pull fuel with the VAFC.

Any advice is appreciated

VAFC really isn't that helpful for FI applications, since they don't help you add fuel. They only help you remove fuel.

Sorry, I should have read your whole post before replying. I see that you would use the VAFC with an FPR, but that is still an inferior setup than the EMU. Unless the cost difference is too significant, take the VAFC off your list.

You will regret the VAFC if you are boosted and going for 10 lbs. Do it right and get a standalone, larger injectors and a good tune. All it takes is 1 bad tank of gas to eat some piston rings or grenade you.

Emanage ultimate will handle 10psi just fine with proper tuning.

The emanage ultimate is just a piggy back right? thats what i want.

Yeah i realize now the highest i can go is 7psi with the stock injectors and the vafc to pull fuel below vtec.

But is the tuning fairly simple, i've never messed with tuning software really: though i've seen it displayed and the tuners going throuigh the motions when i got my turbo prelude tuned.
I know it needs to be at 12-12.5
and to pull around 1degree of timing up top per # of boost? (or until theres no nitceable knock)

But is it as simple as typing in numbers and it adds or pulls fuel?

The emanage is pretty easy to tune to get the car running 90% but it takes someone that really knows the emanage to get rid of a couple small hiccups at part throttle (have very few now). If your choice was only between the emanage ultimate and the vafc2 then i would do emanage. You can adjust timing and add fuel without tricking the stock ecu by adjusting the injector pulse width. Not to mention static fuel pressure instead of using the RRFPR
