VMware Server, Sun VirtualBox and Microsoft Virtual Server 2005 R2 are all free. Of the three, VirtualBox would be my preference if I didn't have a VMware Workstation license. I know that VirtualBox also supports USB device passthrough, not sure with the other two.
VMware server supports 64 bit OS's as well as usb devices. It can be downloaded from their site here: http://www.vmware.com/products/server/features.html

All you would have to do is
1. download the program
2. install vmware
3. add a new virtual machine with your new os (in this case windows xp 32 bit)
-install it the same way you do for a physical hard drive
4. install the greddy software

done.

I know this is an old thread but for those that need to know: I've successfully been using, for the past 4 years, a Mac running Parallels with a Windows XP virtual machine. It works great with zero issues. The Greddy software and driver is happy as can be.

Just to clarify.

the software will run fine in any version of windows from xp to 7 and maybe 8.

The DRIVERs for the emanage unit on the other hand will only work on a 32bit windows machine only.

I have laptop with win7 32bit and it runs and connects no problems.

On my second laptop though that is win7 64bit, in order to install the driver and connect to the ecu, I'm using the virtual machine XP mode.

hope that clear it up.

The driver should be in the "program files/trust/Greddy emanage ultimate\driver" folder... in there should be a Preinstaller. Just run this and then plug in the ECU

I'm dowloading the software from the Greddy site and the load doesn't include the drivers. Could you send me the drivers or your version of the software?
