Default Flashpro question

I am getting ready to pull the trigger on this and I'm not quite sure how it works basically I have a desktop I have no need for a laptop. Once you download flashpro manager and have it on your computer do you need an internet connection at that point to flash a new tune to the car? I know I'm noob. Enlighten me.

you can download flashpro program from hondata.com without even buying it and just use the help feature so figure out all your questions, but it says you can use laptop or desktop

You don't need a laptop, but make sure you are close to your laptop whenever you decide to flash new calibration. Every now and them, the calibration on the FlashPro seems to be corrupted, and flashing it will leave the car inoperable until you can hook the FlashPro back up to the computer and load it again. I've been stranded a couple times.

This.
I generally reflash my car with my laptop now.

When you first purcahse your Flashpro, you will need to connect the car to the FlashPro, and the FlashPro to your computer all at the same time in order to lock your FlashPro to your car.

I don't think it's required to have a computer connected to the FlashPro and car in order to lock it. I think you just have to do a datalog using the FlashPro, then connect the FP to the computer to Lock it.

Thanks. I was more concerned if I needed an internet connection since when I do go to the reflash I wont have a long enough cable to do so in the garage, but if many are using a laptop then I see it is not required. I am sure it will all make more sense whem I have it in hand.

Thanks again
