Default Flashpro + supercharger tunes

So I got a flashpro yesterday and I'm feeling a bit ripped off. The whole idea was to buy the flashpro and use it to download the flash for whatever kit I ended up buying. I even called and they said, Yep that works. The only problem is you can't download the hondata flashes for vortech, CT, or kraftwerks. Your only choice is a generic supercharger tune that for lack of a better term is horrific.

I dont' want to mail out my ecu, that's just dumb. I don't want to have to mail it back to get it set back to stock, that's just dumb too. And god help you if there's a problem with the flashed tune because you won't be able to fix it.

So I guess the real question is, how do you get the correct flashes for the supercharger kits instead of the POS generic one?

Why would you have to send it out?

The point is to use the supercharger tune as a base to work off of and then tune it (road or dyno) to your specific vehicle.

Don't feel ripped off, just be mad at yourself for not doing the research or understand what's going on.

If you buy a brand new KW or SOS kit for example I believe you get a flashpro with a tune for your application. However in a perfect world it should be further dyno tuned and optimized for your car. These tunes that came with the flashpro are also created and provided by the manufacturers of the SC kit, not Hondata. It's not Hondata's job to provide you with the flashes. It is up to KW or SOS or whoever if they decide they will give you the tune when you purchase one of their kits second hand or something.

If you end up getting a kit that comes with a flashpro then just sell your old one (that's if you buy a new kit). Or maybe you can work a deal with a vendor if you don't need the flashpro. Either way, it's not Hondata's problem and you didn't get ripped off.

As the person who developed all the FlashPro S2k tunes I can tell you, with absolute authority that the generic tune is an excellent starting point.

Incorrect.

Kw, Ct, and Vt do not offer any flashpro tunes. You must mail in the ecu to Hondata to get it flashed.

SOS only offers Flashpro's on their highboost kit.

And I called Hondata before I bought the damn thing and they said "No Problem, they're there". Maybe they need to do some more internal training and quit lying to make a sale?

As all these solutions are done by mailing your ecu to Hondata to be flashed, you'd think since they ALREADY HAVE THE MAPS they'd be available on the flashpro.

As to hondata's response to this thread, your map is so vague its practically useless. You have ALL the maps for the 4 major supercharger vendors in house already. It doesn't make much sense to me that you only have this crappy generic.

Now when I drop over to the civic si maps, look there is a CT specific supercharger map...

Again, doesn't make sense when everyone knows that Hondata already has the maps and is flashing them to peoples ECU's but doesn't offer it through flashpro.

Kw, Ct, and Vt calibrations were developed and paid for by the respective companies. As such it is their intellectual property. CARB certification is one reason such calibrations are kept confidential. Should their calibration be freely available then there would be no way their kit could be CARB certified.

I dont understand what you are trying to accomplish by getting a vendor specific tune. As stated before, even those will have to be tuned to your vehicle for optimal performance.

If you are just looking to slap something on and be done with it, you bought the wrong product. Just because one tune may work great for one vehicle doesnt mean it will work great for another. That is the whole reason behind the FlashPro, fine tuning for each individual vehicle.

Since SOS and kraftwerks will never be carb certified I don't think there's much to worry about.
