Default Greddy emanage ultimate

hey guys i have an ap1 with aem v2 cold air intake and 70mm test pipe and i am looking into doing a tune. Now i used to have a bunch of bolt ons and greddy e manage before but that was pre loaded giles tune. It was awesome and i liked it alot but there has to be a better tune then that if it is specifically tuned to your car. I am very interested in learning how to tune my own vehicle. i like knowing how things work and how to change things myself rather then driving an hour and half and paying someone to retune or tune my car. the giles tune made a huge difference with vtec at 4500 but i still heard a pop when vtec kicked in so i know vtec can be lower with a tune for my current vehicle. Or would it just be better to suck it up and go get tuned? would i still need a aem wide band? i just know there is no point in buying a catback exhaust again knowing a tune will net MUCH more power then the catback for cheaper. any input would be greatly appreciated. i know there is 20whp midrange missing and probably about 20 peak because of the drop off in early ap1s.

get a wideband and tune it yourself, there's not too much you can mess up with on an n/a car as long as you don't make huge adjustments

Awesome. I don't plan on making huge adjustments, just baby steps as I have stated. Is there any tips and trick I should know about?

Just don't attempt to alter the timing and vtec point without a dyno and associated knock mic etc etc etc, but AFR go for it.

Better yet send it to ballistic motorsports and get a pre-tune. It will be better than most customs tunes out there.

Ballistics doesn't offer the pretuned option anymore. You can try the used market. They come up every once in awhile.
