Default Haltech for 06+ DBW?

Hi All,

I'm currently looking for a more advanced EMS setup for my 06 supercharged S. I'm currently tuned on Hondata flashpro but am searching for something with a little more robust failsafe technology.

I've looked around and it seems Haltech is for 05 and below. What sort of options do I have for an EMS with failsafes built in that can shut down the car?

If none.. are there gauges that can at least throw a warning light?

I'm looking for warnings/failsafes on lean AFR and/or low oil and fuel pressures.

Thanks in advance!

The Haltech Elite 1500 and above are for DBW cars like yours. They can run cable as well but they are built with DBW in mind.
As for gauges that can throw warning lights, the AEM failsafe wideband gauge comes to mind.

On a 2006+ car there are a couple of variables that you need to consider that older s2000s wont give you grief over:
  1. the DBW TB
  2. the VSA
  3. the CAN DASH
  4. the AC systems trigger for ON/OFF
I had an infinity on my 2007 and let me tell you the amount of Christmas lights that were on it. SOS has since sorted out bullet 1, 2 and 3 but all required extra gear you need to buy. I think the next question would be - how much do you want to spend and when you say fail-safe? Are you looking for engine protection etc? Flashpro is pretty handy with what it can do - but needs capable hands.

Hope that helps.

Were you able to get ABS running w/ your Infinity?

Asking because I'm trying to gain a better understanding of the ABS systems. I'm in an 06 and wondering what the future looks like for me. The 00-05 ABS is standalone and just needs wheel speed sensors, not the native ECU or anything else to function, if I understand correctly. There are some differences in 00-03 and 04-05 but that's not the point here. 06+ ABS is more advanced, uses additional sensors for yaw and idk what else, and needs input from the ECU and I think even the cluster. I'm curious if there's a solution to keep the 06+ ABS while using a standalone ECU and what is required. I haven't seen a write-up with that info or even confirmation that someone has kept the 06+ ABS without the factory ECU.

I like my ABS. It works really well. If I were to need an engine, I'd be very much torn between a F or K and this could be a deciding factor. For now, I understand a lot of people just retrofit the 00-05 systems. As time goes on, it's going to be harder to find those.
