Now that is HUGE imo ! I will ditch my aem ems in a second for a setup like this ! How does the knock feedback compare to the ems ?
What is huge? If you're talking about the OBDII thing, I would seriously investigate what kind of OBDII testing is actually performed in your area before assuming it will work for you. The OBDII tests in my area are FAR more specific than just hooking up the computer to the OBDII port and checking the readiness codes. It was a long procedure of the OBDII machine sending commands to the ECU, and the inspector (mechanic) verifying certain actions / reactions / conditions while the engine was running. It seemed clear to me that the OBDII test is making sure that the OBDII ECU is actually running the engine.

Its huge if it works as described meaning readiness codes are all present . However lets not jump the gun yet until we see it work . Inspections in my state are quick checks for readiness codes taking no more than a minute . No knock feedback is a disappointment though .

Kpro can technically fail OBD-2 testing due to the ecu appearing as RSX, something else to keep in mind.
With KPro if you enter the S2000 VIN then the ECU will show as a S2000 ECU to any scan tool.

All they did was hook up their machine and check for readiness codes. I asked the guy (who owns the shop and has been there for at least 20 years) if it checked anything about the vin from ecu, his reply was no. He inspected mine the prior year, and was asking if it was a lot faster now, if it was turbod vs supercharged, etc.

If ecu relays that readiness codes are ok and no cel, then it passes in Texas.
I'm starting to wonder if Collin county is just more strict. I don't see anything about it on The Google, but I was standing right there while the inspector did what the OBDII machine told him what to do. The OBDII test took half the time.

I would think that it'd be the same in all counties w emissions, but idk

The non test drive/inspection part took less than 5 minutes for me

Mine passed in Collin county without any issues. Just checked codes and opened gas cap. Then wanted to know how fast and if he could have a ride!

there's no newer emissions/inspection standard that yours would fall under, gernby, is there?

I wonder if they were just hassling you?

I haven't heard of any newer standard for testing that an '08 would have to go through over an '00. What I'm sure about is that the guy was definitely not giving me a hard time. We were chatting the whole time about the neighborhood that we both live in (small world). He didn't know how to drive a manual transmission, so I had to do the driving while he sat in the passenger seat. The OBDII part of the test was computer driven, and he was just doing what it told him to do. The whole inspection took at least 30 minutes.

^Same here in Germany. Several engine speeds, loads and the function of O2 sensors and catalyst are checked. And of course the codes.
My K-Pro passed all these checks :-)
