Default Hondata not functioning

Has anyone had any experience using a hondata flashpro (http://www.hondata.c...hpro_s2000.html).

Basically I went down to a Honda specialist yesterday, who ordered the Hondata on my behalf. I have checked it is the correct model number based on the Hondata website and my cars ECU part number however it didn't work.

The flashpro could identify the car i.e. when connected the display showed my VIN number and all essential information. When the technician tried editing any of the parameters an error message came up saying car unidentifiable. This clearly shows that the link from the flashpro to laptop is working and that it is clearly 'talking' to the car.

I personally think it is a problem with Hondata software, so my question is does anyone have any experience of this? any suggestions?

Did you lock the flashpro to your car first? You cannot do anything with it until it's locked.

Well I personally didn't do anything but the flashpro has been registered and linked to my car.

I took it to a specialist as I haven't got a clue what am doing, just about manage to turn a computer on. They were setting everything up on my behalf and are one of if not the best with regards to tuning Hondas from what I have been told.

Unfortunately it means I have wasted a day off work and a full tank of fuel for effectively a dyno run. Waiting a response from Hondata with a view to resolving the problem hopefully that works out but if not then am pretty stumped, don't know how to proceed.

I believe the ECU may not be UK spec the ECU number is: 37820-PCX-U06

and according to hondata is not compatible. So does this mean new ECU?
