Default Knock Sensor Control Table

Whats the knock sensor control table supposed to look like?

The base calibration tables for knock sensitivity look like poop. Either that or its supposed to look all zig-zagity across the table?

From what I've seen, all of the Hondata calibrations have the same knock tables. However, I found that they were a bit too sensitive, especially in some areas, so I smoothed them out a bit to get rid of some low RPM knock retard.

Note the difference in scale also.

I didn't do much to the high cam table, since I wasn't gettting much knock retard on the high cam. I think I created a thread about how I went about optimizing my knock tables. My goal was to reduce sensitivity just down to the point that I was no longer getting any knock retard, but no lower than that. I simultaneiously worked on my timing maps so that I was getting optimal ignition timing without knock counts. This was a bit of a juggling act since reducing knock sensitivity by itself can cause the actual ignition timing to jump way up and cause knock counts.

Basically, if you are getting 5 degrees of knock retard at 2800 RPMs, then you should subtract 5 degrees from your timing table, then reduce the knock sensitivity at that same spot. Once you've got the knock sensitivity lowered just enough to get rid of the knock retard, then start adding ignition timing back in until you start getting knock counts or you quit gaining power.
