Default lowering redline in kpro

I have kpro and it is tuned and has a redline of 9400, can I just input 9200? that wont affect anything else, will it?

as long as it's higher than ap2 guys, i'm good, lol, i'm still on ap1 retainers, and they just switched our gas to include 10% ethanol, and i knock a little bit at high rpms, so i'm multi-paranoid

Makes sense to me, especially since you're boosted. I don't think the high RPMs are as beneficial to you as they are for us NA guys.

or you should just not rev that high and not change anything aside from when you shift?

It's pretty easy to NOT rev to 9400....

hm really?

i guess it's safer to guess what RPM I'm at over 9000 than to utilize a feature of a system that is already installed?

That's pretty stupid. If you want to rev to only 9200 for safety's sake, then you should set the rev limitter at 9200. The tackometer only goes up to 8900 or 9000, IIRC, so the difference between 9200 and 9400 would be pretty difficult to guess.

After thinking about it, maybe it would be a good idea to lower the rev limit even more, at least until you have everything dialed in, and you're used to the extra power.

I don't know if the KPro has this issue, but I've noticed that the stock ECU doesn't cut fuel exactly at the rev limit, and does overshoot the rev limit by a couple hundred RPMs at times. For example, I have my rev limit set to 8500 RPMs, but when I hit redline in 3rd gear, the RPMs will reach as high as 8700. I believe this is due to latency in RPM calculation. I suspect that it would overshoot even more in 1st gear due to the increase in accelleration rates. I also think it would overshoot even more still if I had a turbo, and much, much more if my tires were to break loose in 1st gear.
