Default possible problem with aem ems

I have an aem v2 for my s2000. I went to the dyno on friday and the tuner said vtec is not working. He checked the vtec selenoid and it worked with 12 volts. He said its the ecu or the wiring.
So i went home and checked the vtec selenoid wire and it had continuity. I called aem and they said its a problem with the car. I sent them my calibration and got on the phone with him. We changed vtec settings to kick on at over 20 percentage throttle and 0 mph. The lap top showed it kicked on.
After getting off the phone i opened the hood. The vtec selenoid does kick on and off with your new settings you can hear it. Click. However, it doesn't trigger it all of the time. Sometimes it sends 12 volts. Other times it doesn't. When i press the gas it only triggers it half the time. Even when its not working the ecu us showing that it is.

I think the aem is bad. What are your thoughts?

Today i checked the wore again and its only getting 8 volts. I triggered the vtec selenoid manually and it worked. So its not the rockers.

Can you swap the OEM ecu and test?

Also see if you can borrow someone else's vtec solenoid to swap and test

No. The car is on e85. The vtec selenoid is working properly as it engages when i give it power manually. Tried it with the car running also.

Do you have the calibration? Who tuned the car? Have you checked voltage at the pin on the ecu? Have you checked the ground wires on the engine?

I got the tune with my fuel setup. Someone was nice enough to send it to me sine we have very similar setups. All i have to do now is clean the map up a little bit. Its evans tuned. The wire to the vtec selenoid is good. I checked it. Vtec also kicks on when i do it manually. I didnt che k voltage at the pin.

In case you guys were wondering this is what happened with the ems.
"Burnt internal trace on adapter board. Unable to repair. Need to replace Adapter board.

Main board has damaged idle 1-8 and HS1-HS4."
