Problem Starting Car After Flashing ECU with FP
called and was told to do basically what everyone was saying. I tried again thinking it might work but nope. So I sent them a support ticket from the flashpro manager. We shall see what they come back with.
I'm still going to check out the pgm-fi relay as I think it is whats clicking. Not sure. If I turn the key to the on position, the first second, I hear a series of clicking and then it stops.
However I can hear a ticking sound coming from the driver side engine compartment. I can't seem to pinpoint it though. Sound like its around the intake manifold but not sure. I hear it more on the driver than the passenger.
I checked all the fuse again underneath the driver side and all looks good. Next up is the relay and seeing if that is it.
Can it be a reflash/flashpro issue or something else? I can't imagine it happening after I flash the ECU though. Just odd to me.
what do you guys think.

well if the immobilizer can't read the key or the immobilzer reader is broken or whatever, it doesn't activate the ecu hence why flashpro can't read the ecu.

I hope its not the ECU but if it is, do you think honda will replace it. Do you think they will find out if it was flashed? are they going to charge me? i'm barely out of warrenty. I have the honda care, 48k miles...i'm at 48500 and it expire last month.
I did a few more troubleshoot tonight. The clicking I was talking about when I turn on the key to ON briefly...well I pulled the fuse for the fuel pump SRS which control the fuel pump and the pgm-fi main relay. I turn the key and it didn't click. So I am thinking the pgm-fi main relay is broken and its not engaging the ECU.
Thats my theory. I need to pull the relay and do some testing. Hoping to do that on Sunday. Hopefully thats it, if not then off to the dealership I go

I don't see how an external relay failure would cause the FlashPro to not be able to communicate with the ECU. I suspect that your ECU is toast, but I truly hope it's not.

do you think honda will know that its been flash and void my warranty?
how can flashing the ecu damage the ECU? don't get me wrong, if its hondata fault then I will call them and discuss it.
I have been flashing the ecu quite often just like you gernby. I bet you have flash it way more than I have and haven't had any issue.
I'm going to take my battery to get it tested and if it fail then buy a new battery.
I'll be testing the relay and immobilizer as stated in the manual.

Unless you think that your ECU not working has nothing to do with you reflashing it, then I don't understand why you would ask how it could be the issue. I ruined a PC motherboard once by flashing the wrong BIOS to it, and there was no way to recover from it. I'm also an telecommunications engineer with extensive software development experience. It is a probability that your ECU will be thrown into the trash because of a bad reflash.
I would bet $1000 that I've reflashed my ECU way more times than any other FlashPro owner, since I've created and tested about 300 calibrations. However, I firmly believe that every time I flash a calibration, I'm taking a chance that I'll brick my ECU.
Are you familiar with the Apple iPhone, or the software that people use to "jail break" them? People wind up bricking their iPhones all the time while jail breaking them, and Apple has NO responsibility to replace them. That is effectively what we are doing with our ECU's with the FlashPro.
