Default What are you using to tune and datalog?

I am thinking of getting one of the cheap ACER mini laptops ($250) to use in the car for datalogging and what not. My old dell is a clunker, the battery doesn't hold a charge, etc. I figure I don't need much processing power, since it will be used for tuning/datalogging and to take on trips to check email and browse and maybe watch some videos or a movie.

Is anyone running KManager on an IPAD? The Ipads are more expensive than the tiny laptops but at least it would fulfill the function of a new cool toy. I am very partial to apple after getting a MAC about a year ago. I literally only use a PC now when I have to.

I have a cheap Acer that I bought specifically for tuning my Prelude(Hondata S300). Other than the short battery life, it's great.

I use an acer aspire one at work, I work at a ford dealership and use it as my scantool. its great, i put a 40g solid state drive and a 6 cell battery in it and get about 9.5 hours on a battery. Its very fast now and the compact size is very nice. the newer ones come with a 6 cell battery and get around 6 hours of life supposedly.

I am using a Innovate OT-2 + Ipod Touch 4G (the iTouch is mounted in an active GPS cradle, so I use it as GPS as well for track logging or navigation)

I can log so far the OBD2 parameters + the LC-1 Wideband (I plan to add oil pressure/temperature sensors to the MTS chain as well)

Now this is the kind of information I was hoping to hear! I am about to pick up an Iphone since my BB contract is up. Can you run KManager on an Ipod/Iphone/Ipad or is it just impossible. I am pretty sure they have a MAC version of the software.

mmm.. I don't really know about Hondata things.. I have a eManage Ultimate (but I don't really use the EMU logging tools)

I use Innovate sensors, tools.. (http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/) as software I use Logworks I have the PC version (I use it eventually with ny Asus Netbook) and the iPod/iPhone/iPad version (thats what I use normally to log things on my Ipod Touch 4G), both sofwares are free. But you need of course that your sensors are attached to an Innovate MTS serial chain (thats the Innovate communication protocol to get and transmit the info from the sensors)
