Default 04/05 S2000 with Comptech SC acceleration`

Those of you with an 04/05 Comptech SC, could you please tell us what your acceleration is like? I want to know if I'll be faster accelerating from 0-60 and 1/4 mile plus passing.

??? You will have about 100 more hp to your wheels. You will accelerate faster.

My 0 to 60 feels about the same. From a roll is where the power is at, the boost seems to start to help around 4500rpms and gets stronger all the way to 8k. Spider2k and i did a 3rd gear run (he drives an 00' with mild mods) and the power difference was noticeable. We still need to do a run from a stop. If you want 1/4 mile times you might need to look at nitrous.

I've seen lots of posts that say 1/4 times and 0-60 times are not faster or as fast as stock because there's too much power to put down. That's why I asked about the 04/05 in particular. Stock, with a down shift, the car has plenty of passing power on the highway. I'm hoping to be able to accelerate faster from a stop, but am not a drag racer nor do I want to be. My question is very reasonable. That's why there are so many car magazines that feature acceleration numbers.

hmmmm, i'd really like to see evidence of a before/after s/c install and not have better 0-60 and 1/4 times.

I agree. There is no way you are not going to accelerate quicker with a supercharger. 1/4mile times do change significantly with a s/c. Look around and you will see many that run in the low 13's and a few that are in the high 12's...

I think a lot of people see before and after 1/4 mile times and dont think 1/2-3/4 of a second is much when in reality it is a MAJOR difference.

After reading your last post again I think maybe you should consider gears if you are wanting to actually get off the line faster. A S/C is not going to help you from a dead stop to say 4000rpm. After 4000rpm is a different story.

I guess maybe my original post was not clear enough. Most of the threads about sc acceleration consist of people not answering the question, saying it's a stupid question, or otherwise relate to pre-04 cars that are often highly modified.

I'm just wondering what the acceleration is on the 04/05 with the supercharger but no other modifications. I can't believe that those of you with the SC didn't immediately do some times runs to see the gains.

I'm not going to be racing in the car, but I suppose that the car could be launched from an rpm already under boost, assuming the tires could hook up at all.

I understand that the car will be mostly faster in passing manuevers. I'm still wondering exactly how fast, in numbers or say comparisons to other cars I am familiar with.
