tell InlinePro you are an s2ki member and you will get a discount! But i agree a stock motor is more than fine for your goals
Thank you for the heads up! I guess will look into a stock motor build even Mase told me that the stock motor is fine. What would you guys make sure to upgrade on a stock motor before turbo?
If you wanted more displacement, you could run up to a 89mm piston if you sleeve the motor. That will get you to a 2.3 liter with the stock 2.2 crank/stroke. That's what I'm currently doing on my build. CP makes an off the shelf 9.6:1 piston in that size.

I have heard nothing but bad things about resizing a honda crank. So I want to start fresh the bearing surfaces do have finger nail deep scratches on the #4 rod bearing.

Make sure you get arp head studs that's the #1 must, it's upto you but I'd pick up some ferrea springs and retainers and thats mostly it. Idk what shape this block is in or how many miles are on it but you can do oil pump, tct, oil chain tensioner, all the guides many will say you dont need it but when I built my motor I spent the extra 500 bucks on these things to protect a 4k shortblock. Just food for thought

Hmm I thought that was pretty standard practice. Take crank to machine shop and have the surfaces measured to see what room you have to play with and purchase the proper size/clearance rod bearings to mate to your crank and rods. If you have a speed shop you trust, have them check it out and let you know if it’s possible and they feel good about it From the factory, what I understand is not all bearing surfaces and bearings are the same size. What matters is if there is enough area after polishing the crank surfaces to accommodate a off the shelf bearing with proper clearances. Have you talked directly with any Honda engine builders?

2.2's make more power hands down then the 2.0L's. You are already off to a good start. Lol.

^torque for sure but that's not necessarily true for hp since you can rev these 2.0s out further and when running a decent size turbo it makes the majority of its power uptop. Just putting in my .02
