get a 2.2L and stroke it to 2.3L... that's about as far as I've seen where reliability was not an afterthought...

I'm not worried about my Inline stroker.

I don't recall anyone being worried until it blew up...

And turboing the S2000 was bad. And supercharging it was bad. Before they were getting tuned correctly.

Same thing. I don't doubt Inline Pro. I have had experience with them in the past, unlike everyone that says not to get the stroker.

How about a F2C1 with 89mm pistons and aftermarket sleeves? It's probably not the best combo for really high boost, but should work for low boost.

Not true. At least not for SCs. The Comptech came out in what? 2000. And there were hiccups but they weren't tuning related. The early turbo pioneers were just that, pioneers. ANd some were cowboys.

But let's see, I've heard of three Inline 2.5L kits and all three have had a failure. Are there a bunch of silent achievers out there that have had success from the Inline kit? They're a timid lot if there are.

When Europe has an oil jet bolt recall and a company is making a stroker kit that removes them altogether it's got to raise concerns.

I remember threads of Comptech'd cars blowing up also. So, if the turbo pioneers, were just that. Then, I guess the few of us that have gone 2.5 are pioneers also.

Maybe I will be the first to have one run for a long time. Who knows?

Like I've said, I have personal experience with Inline way back in the day. I have confidence in my motor. And if it does blow, it will be a lesson learned. But, as of now, it runs smoother and quieter than my stock F20C did.

I have not been on s2ki in a long time because I am to busy with school and SAE. but I will try to add to this thread. I got the first 2.5L from IP and I must say it has been a huge PITA from day one. Granted my motor still "works" and there is no scuffing in sleeves however I can't and have never been able to keep a damn head gasket on it for more then 3k miles, for about 2 or 3 of the head gaskets the work was done by IP and still failed. I have also had a bad taste in my mouth from them with my friend
