Default 3" intercooler piping?

just out of curiosity what would be the drawbacks of running 3" intercooler piping from the TB to down inside the bumper where it would step back down to 2.5" (where the piping would no longer be visible)

I ask because i have alot of 3" carbon Fiber piping which would look freaking Hot. I plan on using it now for an AEM v1 copy but i'd like to know the drawbacks or benefits of running 3" intercooler piping for the section as noted above.

i know the early Full Race kits had a 3" intercooler piping option. Can anyone shed some light onto my question of how 3" piping would affect a 400whp turbo s2000 vs the standard piping which comes with (i think its 2.5 or 2.75"?)

I see the only downside is getting around corners and buying reducers for the turbo outlet and throttle body
