The kraftwerks S/C would be more comparable to a GT30r than a Novi 1200.

KW uses a Rotrex supercharger which spins @ 100,000 rpms which is more inline with turbo than your typical Novi (50,000 rpms). However unlike a turbo the Rotrex runs MUCH cooler and IAT temps are typically shown to be withen 3 degrees of ambient, which allows more timing to be run = more power.

The Rotrex also uses a planetary Traction drive instead of gears so it runs more efficiently and is far less noisy. Thats why I called the Rotrex the "Stealth Bomber of Forced Induction"
Mmm interesting.... Not to get to far off topic, but what is the diff between the Novi 1000 VS the 1200? Anyone know?

[QUOTE=afwfjustin,Jun 30 2008, 01:30 PM] I love your setup as I mentioned on s2katlanta, but I made 400rwhp/285rwtrq @ 11 psi WITH 9:1 compression

science of speed www.scienceofspeed.com testing a novi 1200 kit at the moment should be out on the market durring summer $3895 base with after cooler $4895! I like the rotrex myself.

Yeah, totally different compared to the Rotrex. The Novi 1200 is just a more efficient 1000...the major difference is going increased peak HP with a minor increase in power at low revolutions. You can call SOS or Paxton to talk about it if you're interested.

The Rotrex is a completely different type of supercharger setup that, as mentioned, is designed to run at much higher rpm. I question the thermal efficiency of anything running at that rpm but if the claim IAT's that low, it must be true.

There is a reason that it has such Low IAT. The Blower is running in the Peak efficency of the Map.
Take a peak at the flow map for the C30-94. Its the last Map.

The setup that KW has keeps the blower in the 80% range of the blower (which means less air heated and then once it passes through the intercooler you get really close to ambiant temp because you heated the air so little in the first place.

Just think if you run a NOS core cooler kit on the Intercooler, you could drop the temps to 50-60 degrees below ambiant.... , thats just crazy.

Whether or not a supercharger or turbo is running in it's efficiency range, 100k rpm is still 100k rpm and that kind of velocity should, in theory, create more friction/heat. I think that, if a 10psi KW is running at only 3 degrees above ambient, it's more a testament to the inter/aftercooling setup that runs with it. It's obviously doing one hell of a good job.

Nah.... it doesnt use Exhaust to turn it so very little heat will be generated except by compression by the turbine (which follows the Gas laws for heat generated)

Well how much heat do you think GT30r would produce if it was not connected directly to a 1500 degree exhaust manifold? But rather a belt and a planetary drive system? Its not so much the RPMs as it is the efficiency of the system.

Mr. Honda, I didnt know your running 12:1 compression? Did you install a thinner HG or do something to the head? Do you have plans for any further mods or is this it for the time being?
