Default 3mm Copper Head Gasket

Hi Everyone,

I'm planning on turboing my S2000 next year. Would it be worth it to try a 3mm copper head gasket to lower compression? I know the conventional head gaskets aren't reliable, but I assume a metal gasket would be better? Or would lowering compression with this method start messing with quench and not be worth it? I'm looking for about 500 horsepower on pump gas.

Thanks!

Keep the stock head gasket. No need to do that.

What gas are you planning on using?

What turbo kit are you planning on using?

If you have any other questions, I would be more thanhappy to help you out with any questions you might have.

Please, show me the results of a search for this topic? I'm well aware of the pitfalls of a conventional 3mm gasket. I'm asking about a solid copper gasket.

Otherwise work on your reading comprehension.

Thanks Fernando. I haven't made my decision on a kit yet, but leaning towards PTUNING. I plan on running pump gas for now and maybe E85 in the future.

Really? its well established you should never use aftermarket head gaskets on the f20/22. Any kind of research would have given you that result. Ive been reading it for the last two years non stop in these forums.

Easy hotshot, you're the one who came in here asking questions. Sweet 6th post.

This has been covered countless times in the FI section alone. There is absolutely no need. I'm another stock untouched f20 @500whp on pump.

Don't do a 3mm gasket. Stay stock.
