i can only imagine how loud a 4 inch exhaust would be hahahah
i was JUST thinking of the sound as well...
I would sacrefice some power to keep the sound down.. But that's just me personally... i live in an area in VA where the Cops can be pretty harsh... So i try to stay on their good side lol

As for 2.5" vs. 3.0", the "best" turboback exhaust depends on the amount of flow, or horsepower. At 250 hp, 2.5" is fine. Going to 3" at this power level won't get you much, if anything, other than a louder exhaust note. 300 hp and you're definitely suboptimal with 2.5". For 400-450 hp, even 3" is on the small side.

lol everything i said i JUST typed. From another site? LOL...what?
You didnt get me upset I just find it funny how you still havent backed anything up you said. Care to elaborate on how a 3" exhaust will make more power than a 4" @ 600whp? You ran away from that one, better go call out physics again since physics lie too much.

You have to remember, the farther the exhaust flows, the cooler it gets so it won't need that huge pipe. Unless you have one huge turbo, drag race the car only and are putting down 800+ whp. I think for the most part, 3" is just fine for most street driven cars.

thats from Jay Kavanaugh. Hes a former garrett engineer. Hmm....sounds like bstone is uhhh...well we will just let him sit in his corner. he just got served if you will.
but 3 inch is fine for our cars. i make over 7 and have a 3 inch DP and i use a cut out after the pipe. 4 inch is loud and over doing it.
if you were using a gt42 or somemething huge liek that and tracking the car all the time, then yeah, 4 inch is what you want. but most of you guys dont track the car like that and so a 3 inch will be subsatntial.

I don't think a 3" exhaust will make more power over a 4" at 600 whp on a turbo car but I do believe it would be a waste of money to go to a 4" unless you are way up there in power.....say around 800+ whp. Even you know who's EVO that is putting down 760 whp has a 3" DP and exhaust and he knows his stuff.

Oh I agree Chad....but the question was " would a 4" make more power over a 3" @ 600whp " I bet it would. Would love to see a dyno but we probably never will...and I will never need a 4" so I wont ever know. But physics kinda dont lie.
