$5,900 FOR COMPTECH SUPERCHARGER
I doubt that is with install price as I remember pm'ing one member about him sending out his car to get the supercharger installed at a honda dealership in california and having it sent back and his total bill was 8k......
I got my sc with ac for $5800 installed, plus pre and post dynos. The actual sc and ac was $4900. I might be able to get that deal for you too. I don't know if I'm able to say the shop's name, but it's the same shop that dsitributes to Gruppe-S. PM if you are interested and I can make a call.
Gruppe-S has that price because they unload them and like to look good on paper with comptech. they will not give you the CUSTOMER support and help that hardtopguy will. They dont know 2 craps about that setup or an s2000 anyway.
I like that SEMA article
I don't know how many times I've seen this misinformation printed here:
I did a bunch of research on this before finally biting the bullet and getting the SC. I called 6 Honda dealers in the Bay area that "supposedly" installed Comptech stuff. I spoke to the service managers of every one of them and got responses from "Honda doesn't recommend installing aftermarket parts like that" to "There is a SC for the S2000?" <---- I kid you not. I finally decided I'd just wait until the car was out of warranty so it wasn't a variable, and I decided to have Comptech do the install.
If a dealer claims they will honor the Honda warranty on the car after installing the SC, they are defrauding Honda, from whom they get the reimbursement for the work.
True, the "law" says that the failure has to be because of the installed aftermarket part. But running approximately an extra 100whp beyond the designed intent of the drivetrain sounds like a legit reason for a failure anywhere from intake manifold to hubs IMO. OTOH, I suppose Honda might still fix a broken window motor.
Now, if I've misunderstood all along and what people are saying is the dealer will warranty the work ON THE SC INSTALL itself, well that I'd buy.
